My brother Steve owns a cottage on Bob's Lake in Ontario and I love to visit in the winter. His cottage is on an island so we walk across from the marina hauling everything we will need for the weekend. Usually when I go its a "brothers" weekend and a great time to catch up with the lads. No matter how cold the weather, a walk around the island and a sauna is always on the agenda. During our last trip I walked around the island during a snowstorm and took this image of a neighbour's dock. The red chairs seemed to be holding vigil, waiting for winter to loosen it's icy grip. I was happy to catch this image during the storm but I did skip the sauna that day.
Next day was a glorious, bright sunny day. Perfect for silhouettes
